Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway in the Mohican State Forest. This cottage offers many opportunities for people to escape from the normal daily grind. Come relax and enjoy all that Mohican has to offer. Whether you enjoy just being cozy by the fire and secluded from everything or you want to go out and adventure the hiking trails and waterfalls, do the lake life, tubing down river or shopping, this is the place. You will adore this place as it is very welcoming and inviting. The space This cottage offers two bedrooms and one full bath. First bedroom is on first floor with a full size bed. There is a tv with fire stick, fan and dresser for your clothing, full size mirror on back of lockable sliding barn door. Second bedroom is in the loft up the spiral staircase and it offers a queen size bed and area for your travel necessities. This overlooks the living room area and stone fireplace. Next area that can be used for extra guest is in the basement. You will need to provide an air mattress if you’d like as it only offers two couches. Basement also provides seating area to relax or to play board games or to get a group together for a poker game. It also has a warm pellet stove that provides an area to sit down and read a book. The door from basement leads out under the wrap around deck. Bathroom provides all necessities. Towels, wash clothes, soaps etc… also has full size mirror on back of lockable sliding barn door. Kitchen is fully stocked for your needs. Spices, condiments, coffee.. also paper plates, bowls and cups are available if you choose not to use the plates provided. Dining table seats 4 comfortably. A refrigerator, oven, microwave and coffee maker are the appliance’s available. Living room has a couch with chaise, loveseat with ottoman, coffee table, tv(roku and dvd’s) and a beautiful stone fireplace with pellet stove that warms the room. In summer, air conditioner is provided. A walkout sliding door to deck provides scenery to the wilderness. The deck offers lots of room for lounging, barbecuing, and beautiful sightseeing. From above you will see a porch swing, a flowing creek and an area for a campfire. Firewood may be provided but if not, there is lots of local folks that sell it in the area. Guest access The cottage is near Pleasant Hill Boat Club but that area is membership only. (PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE POSTED AREA. PARK RANGER WILL BE NOTIFIED, SO BEWARE.) You will be able to hike up the Township Road (.3 miles) that takes you on a path to the Mohican State Park Lodge which offers many amenities. Swimming(indoor and outdoor), sauna, tennis courts, a bar/restaurant and another finer dining restaurant, fitness room, game room, handball court and more hiking trails etc… You will need to stop at front desk for details. Across the lake you can have access to boat rentals or if you have a boat, a public boat ramp is available. Mohican river and Pleasant Hill Lake offers some great fishing. Muskie, saugeye, brown and rainbow trout, bass, crappie and bluegill. Other things to note Please be respectful and take care of the place as your own. Enjoy yourself and relax. God speed.
