Arts in the Parks at Mohican Lodge

Michelle Boerio is a visual artist and educator from Columbus, Ohio. She loves to make
art that uses multiple mediums to connect people with the weird, wonderful parts of the
natural world. Her paintings use a range of watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, and collage to
create vibrant images. These expressive paintings celebrate playfulness in making
marks.
Michelle believes that anyone can benefit from the kinds of thinking and activity that go
into making art. Her workshops focus as much on creative thinking as they do on
discipline-specific skills.
As an artist and educator, Michelle followed her passion for the arts to earn a BFA in
Painting and Drawing at the Ohio State University. In 2018, she followed up with an MA
in Museum Education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her art has been
exhibited locally and nationally, including through the Ohio Art League, Westmoreland
National Exhibition, and the State Street Art Fair.
Currently, she divides her time between making art and teaching artists of all ages. You
