DESCRIPTION:Remembering and honoring practices of times gone by continues to be a time honored and fun tradition. That is why the Wolf Creek Grist Mill is proud to be the location for this year’s 18th Century Colonial Trade Fair\, August 9th & 10th\, 10am-5pm. Preserving the past and having fun is what will be found during the fair. A professional storyteller will be around explaining indentured slavery of the 18th Century. Watch and learn as moccasin bags & other leather works will be made right in front of guests. Speaking of demonstrations\, a Colonial Militia Soldier will talk of life during that time and what is like in the militia. Bring the earplugs and watch the cannon be prepared for a firing demonstration. There will also be a mock battle on Saturday and Sunday. \n\n\n\nThe entry fee is $3.00\, but receive $1.00 off if you wear an 18th century costume. Amenities: Free Parking. SUMMARY:Mohican Trail 100 Run
DESCRIPTION:Event Overview: For over 25 years\, The Mohican Trail 100 Mile Run\, often referred to as the MO100\, has become one of the nation’s premier ultra-marathons. Home of the first ever USATF Ultra Running Championship in 2005\, Mohican is reportedly the fifth oldest ultra-running race in the USA. Traverse 95% Trail along a challenging course winding its way through the lush 5000 acre Mohican Memorial State Forest. Along with the 100\, The Mohican 50-Mile and Marathon distances have become increasingly popular\, offering runners a taste of the whole enchilada. Rest assured is that whatever distance is chosen\, Mohican volunteers will be there to help to complete the journey. For those who complete their race prizes include buckles and medals. Cash awards will be awarded to those qualify. The last person who finishes the 100 mile race within the 32 hour time limit receives a special “Last of the Mohicans” award. While the award itself varies from year to year\, the theme references Indians\, forest animals\, eagles\, etc. These are standard awards.  \n\n\n\nFor more information\, visit mohican.net.
