The Loudonville-Mohican Chamber of Commerce hosts the Mohican 5K Run/Walk in Loudonville. Proceeds from this event will be used to help complete and maintain the bike path connecting downtown Loudonville to Mohican State Park Campground. The race will begin on Wally Road, just south of its intersection with West Main Street in Loudonville and adjacent to the bike path. Racers will head south on Wally Road to Route 3 where they will then run on the bike path south to the halfway point, and then return, heading north but staying on the bike path to the finish point near the Wally Road ball fields along the river. Both run and walk races will be run together with 9 a.m. start time, with walkers lining up behind runners at the starting line. This race sells out quickly! The 50k and 25k race will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 . This race will have many hills! If you do not finish the 50k there will be no half way awards. The 50k will begin at 7:30 AM and the 25k will begin at 9:00 AM. Please see race web site for more race information, 50k buckles, race shirts and a meal with a hot shower available. You may also rent a cabin at the race site. Cut Off: The 50k runners have 10 hours to finish. The Covered Bridge will be the last aid station (5.0 to go) and will close at 3:50 PM. You will not be permitted to continue past this time. Over 4800 feet of climb.. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Mohican Trails Club to help with improving Mohican's trails.

Location: Race begins in downtown Loudonville, Ohio. Finish at Mohican Adventures located one mile from downtown. Race Description: Criss-Cross three counties along a single loop, climb more than 11,000 feet, and go toe to toe with the top pros on this legendary ultra-endurance loop in Northeastern Ohio. The Mohican 100 features both a 100 mile and a 100 kilometer option with seven fully stocked aid stations. Event Overview: For over 25 years, The Mohican Trail 100 Mile Run, often referred to as the MO100, has become one of the nation's premier ultra-marathons. Home of the first ever USATF Ultra Running Championship in 2005, Mohican is reportedly the fifth oldest ultra-running race in the USA. Traverse 95% Trail along a challenging course winding its way through the lush 5000 acre Mohican Memorial State Forest. Along with the 100, The Mohican 50-Mile and Marathon distances have become increasingly popular, offering runners a taste of the whole enchilada. Rest assured is that whatever distance is chosen, Mohican volunteers will be there to help to complete the journey. For those who complete their race prizes include buckles and medals. Cash awards will be awarded to those qualify. The last person who finishes the 100 mile race within the 32 hour time limit receives a special "Last of the Mohicans" award. While the award itself varies from year to year, the theme references Indians, forest animals, eagles, etc. These are standard awards.
